Welcome to the 22nd Annual Entrepreneurship Conference at Harvard Business School!

The goal of the E-Conference is to foster inspiration, skills, ideas, networks, and fun. In addition, the conference will feature 13 panels covering a range of topics from finding new business concepts to building the right team to raising capital. The conference will also feature the Entrepreneurial Idol Business Plan Competition. This year we expect over 800 attendees from around the world including entrepreneurs of companies large and small, students, investors, lawyers, and academic thought leaders.

Business plan contest

This HIGHLY INTERACTIVE business plan contest will occur during the HBS Entrepreneurship Conference on March 10th and 11th — and past experience has shown you don’t want to miss this event!   Event is open to HBS as well as non-HBS students.

The format will consist of:

  • Speed Round: March 10th – 50 teams will each have only 30 seconds to present their business to the audience and panel of VC judges.  The judges will then choose 10 teams to move onto the Finals
  • Finals: March 11th – The top-10 teams will have 3 minutes and 3 slides to present their ideas to the audience and a new panel of VC judges
  • $1,000 prizes will be awarded by the judges for:
    • Coolest Idea
    • Biggest Market Opportunity
    • Strongest Team
    • Best Chance of Success
  • And $1,000 will be awarded by the audience in a vote for the “People’s Choice” award!!

Teams are eligible to win multiple categories, so any team could take home $5,000!

Spots are limited so team submissions will be screened prior to the event.  However, early entries will receive priority so get your team’s entry in now.

One team member should register your team by March 6, 2006 at 5:00 PM.

You will need to provide a description (500 words max.) of your business concept, along with the names and e-mail addresses of your team members.  We will then notify the 50 team leaders whose teams will compete in the contest.
