The EVCC is the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital club at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. This club is for MBAs wishing to have a career in venture capital (VC), private equity (P/E), or entrepreneurship. The club is closely tied to Fuqua's Asset Management Club and Finance Club. The private equity/PE area also includes funds of funds and wealth management. Also, the Business Technology Club ties the school to technology-focused start-up and small companies. Club members are interested in life sciences (include bio-tech, pharma, medical devices, and healthcare), software/information technology (IT), and other hi-tech areas. Club members are interested in careers in the North Carolina Research Triangle Park (RTP), Silicon Valley (and the greater San Francisco Bay Area), Southern California (LA and San Diego), Boston, Austin, Texas and other areas. Fuqua has many other b-school clubs, for career and social purposes, check the MBAA for more information on our bschool. The EVCC is one of the more active business school clubs at Fuqua. Some students wish to become entrepreneurs at startups upon graduation, while others wish to be associate venture capitalists, who eventually become partners and managing directors. The EVCC interacts with other Duke colleges, particularly the Pratt School of Engineering. Mentored study is just one way to start high technology or biotech(biotechnology) careers at Fuqua.
