John Herbold is responsible for overall club operations, especially those related to entrepreneurship. He spends most of his time building relationships with local entrepreneurs in order to better understand the human capital needs of emerging companies. Through these efforts, John is able to help entrepreneurially-minded Fuqua students learn where their value proposition lies. In addition to his EVCC responsibilities, John recently co-founded a small entreprenurial think tank and is currently working on a valuation and business plan for Finca Esperanza Verde, an award winning Eco-Lodge in San Ramon, Nicaragua.
Prior to coming to Duke's Fuqua School of Business, John worked in the technology investment banking group of A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., where he worked on a variety of transactions in the technology sector, specifically with data storage, software/services and semiconductor companies. John's experience has included both public and private equity and debt offerings as well as financial advisory. John is an avid golfer and also enjoys playing ice hockey. He is a passionate photographer with published work on the front page of The New York Times. John holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Miami University. Upon completing his MBA in 2007, he plans to pursue a career with a technology start-up. |
