Classes
Fuqua offers many classes in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and technology. The Mentored Study class is particularly popular because it includes internships at start-ups and VC firms. The Fuqua Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation guides the entrepreneurship class offerings.

What is Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is the act of identifying profitable market opportunities and founding organizations to take advantage of those opportunities.  Many entrepreneurs seek outside funding during the start-up phase of the firm from angel investors or early-stage venture capitalists.  Firms can be as small as one person or can grow to tens of thousands.  Entrepreneurial careers can vary widely depending on the individual strengths of the entrepreneur and the industry that he/she is interested in entering. 

What is Venture Capital?
Venture capital is a type of private equity that is used to make high risk investments in the hopes of returning above-average returns for its investors.  Typically a group of professional investors with managerial and technical expertise raise a fund from both public and private entities as well as individual investors.  In return for the VC’s investment they generally get a significant equity stake and a say in the operation of the company. 

VC helps to fill a gap in financing for firms that do not have access to traditional financing from banks.  VC careers consist of associates/analysts, principle/VP, junior partner, general partner, and managing partner.

The EVCC
The EVCC is a student run career club that educates and trains not only our members, but all those interested in pursuing careers as an entrepreneur or as a venture capitalist.  The club provides an excellent opportunity for passionate individuals to meet and discuss their ideas in a friendly and collaborative environment.  Due to the size of the club, we enjoy an incredibly diverse and wide range of skill sets amongst our members.  The clubs mission is to bring those talents together to create opportunities for careers in the entrepreneurial and venture capital arenas.
