Mission
We strive to enrich the lives of Jewish students and to create a platform for Jewish Fuqua students that facilitate their needs for social, religious, cultural, social action and community service activities.
Activities
There are plenty of opportunities to acknowledge and celebrate Jewish Holidays while at Fuqua! At the beginning of the school year, we coordinate activities for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This year, we are hosting an on-campus Passover seder for our JBA members and families.
We also coordinate activities, with other Jewish student communities in the Durham Chapel-Hill area, for Chanukkah, Purim, and the Israeli Independence Day.
Discussions
To cover academic, social, and career topics that affect the Fuqua Jewish community
We provide a forum in which to discuss issues sensitive to the Jewish community. We want all Jewish students to have the opportunity to express their concerns, both about their business school experience and their entry into the corporate environment. We have already made great strides in representing the Jewish students to the Fuqua community regarding sensitivity to scheduling events during major holidays.
Faculty/Community Interaction
The opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other members of the Jewish community in the Durham - Chapel Hill has proven to be important to our community. We plan mixers with members of other Jewish communities and graduate schools students from across Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.
