2005 Leadership Experience

The Duke MBA Leadership Experience is the annual capstone event of the student-run Leadership Development Initiative at The Fuqua School of Business. The 2005 event builds on three successful "Annual Leadership Conferences" sponsored by the LDI from 2002-2004. These annual events quickly grew to become the largest student-run event at Fuqua and largest leadership conference among top business schools, as measured by attendance. Among past speakers are Billy Campbell, President of Discovery Networks, Bob Lutz, Chairman of General Motors North America, and Mike "Coach K" Krzyzewski, Head Coach of Duke University's Men's Basketball team. The new "Leadership Experience" name for 2005 and beyond reflects the event's specifically developmental purpose: To provide MBA students and corporate participants with a forum to explore and develop specific skills, tools, and knowledge they need to lead successfully and make meaningful positive impacts in their careers, personal lives, and community endeavors. The theme for this year's event is "When do extraordinary leaders take audacious risks?"
