Net Impact is excited to announce that we are now beginning to compile the 2008 edition of Business as UNusual: the Net Impact Student Guide to Graduate Business Programs! The Guide profiles business programs that have Net Impact chapters and, by surveying Net Impact student members, provides the student perspective on environmental and social themes in curriculum, extra-curriculars, and career services.

The 2006 and 2007 editions of the Guide have been downloaded more than 6,000 times by prospective students, the press, Net Impact members, and others. Last year's Guide featured profiles of 56 programs and input from more than 1,200 students - you can download it at www.netimpact.org/bizschoolguide <http://www.netimpact.org/bizschoolguide> . We hope to build on those numbers this year and take the Guide to the next level!

You - as a student Net Impact member - play a key role. We are asking you to give your input by taking our 7-10 minute survey, which will help us understand how your business program is tackling environmental and social topics. Click the following link to take the survey!

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=rlJdNjwvr2JWl2w45gbBHA_3d_3d

Each program profiled needs at least 10 student members to respond to the survey in order to have its data included in the Guide, so please take a few minutes to represent your chapter!

Conference Call: Private Sector's Role in Building Stable, Business-Friendly Environments
When:
Friday, April 25, 12-1pm
Where:
Conference Room 14
Details:
Join the Net Impact Club Friday, April 25th for this Issues in Depth Conference Call.  Bring your lunch to Conference Room 14 at 12 noon for great insight on the role of the private sector in developing countries.

In fragile, conflict-prone environments, whether in Nigeria, Lebanon, Indonesia, or elsewhere, what is the role of the private sector, above and beyond normal operations, in supporting economic development? How are businesses engaging the developing-world communities in which they are working? Given the financial benefits to business in building stable societies, how can companies coordinate effectively with the U.S. State Department and international institutions that are similarly focused on reconstruction and stabilization efforts? This discussion examines existing best practices and explores the many questions that yet remain unanswered.

With a special panel including:
Michael Shank, Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution;
Greg Garramone, Office of the Coordinator of Reconstruction and Stabilization, US State Department;
Mary B. Hackman, Overseas Security Advisory Council, US State Department
